The Meaning Behind Our Name
An oracle is a message or divine utterance from God, often conveyed through a prophet or other intermediary. In the Holy Bible, oracles were received by the prophets such as Isaiah and Jeremiah and they were heralded to the people using those phrases such as “Thus says the Lord”, “Hear the word of the Lord”, “Behold”, “The Lord said to me” and “I am the Lord”. An oracle can also refer to the deliverer of the message or someone who was a seer, a priest or a priestess, especially in ancient Western religion (Apollo and Delphi). In the Shona context, spirit mediums such as Charwe Nyakasikana received oracles from Mbuya Nehanda and their significance in the history of the country of Zimbabwe cannot be overstated.
This means that oracles were respected in their societies because they carried a divine and holy message. Education provided by Oracle College therefore makes a difference in the lives of our students.
Our Curriculum
We provide both Cambridge IGCSE and AS/A Level and ZIMSEC.
Our curriculum is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to excel in their chosen fields and make meaningful contributions to society.
